Introduction

Yayasan Sinergi Akuakultur Indonesia (YSAI) is an organization dedicated to facilitating advanced shrimp management practices aimed to help establishing an efficient, profitable, and sustainable shrimp aquaculture industry. Our mission is to improve the livelihoods of shrimp farmers and promote environmental conservation, including efforts to minimize climate change impact, through practices such as carbon footprint reduction in aquaculture.

YSAI is implementing the Aquaculture Improvement Project (AIP) with the goal of helping aquaculture farms improve their operations by adopting better management practices and meeting certification requirements. We work collaboratively with government and non-government entities, supply chain participants, and aquaculture industry associations to facilitate the adoption and implementation of exemplary sustainable practices in aquaculture by integrating climate-resilient strategies and adoption of climate-smart technology, we aim to ensure aquaculture industry sustainability and adaptation to climate change challenges.

Our Capacities

Research and field survey

Conduct research and field survey related to aquaculture development in Indonesia, with the following topics: potential and challenge in aquaculture, technology application, socio-economic, aquaculture governance, and the role of women in aquaculture.

Coordination and Facilitation

Working together with a range of stakeholders, including but not limited to, governmental and non–governmental agencies, supply chain actors and farmers association in managing aquaculture improvement programs in Indonesia and facilitating the adoption/implementation of national and international standard of better management practices in aquaculture.

Resources and Training

Carry out training on sustainable aquaculture approaches that covers better management practices, feeding management, water quality management, disease management, biosecurity, and zonal management, also provide

cosevation activities

Promote the establishment of mangrove nursery house and provide education to farmers to carry out mangrove plantation inside and surrounding farming areas.
